History of the Moloka'i (Kalaupapa) Lighthouse

The lighthouse sits on Molokai in the Hawaiian Islands. This island, at one time, was a leper colony until the disease was wiped out. The lighthouse is the tallest on the Pacific Ocean, and was automated in 1966.

Directions: This lighthouse sits on the island of Molokai in the Kalauapapa National Historic Park. From what I read, access to this island is off limits unless you are with a tour group. Two such tour groups that have access to the site are Damien Tours and the Molokai Mule Ride.
