History of the Kilauea Point Lighthouse

I don't have much information on this lighthouse, however, I do know that it was built in 1913 and houses a Second-order Fresnel lens. This lighthouse was also a landfall lighthouse for ships from the Orient bound for the Hawaiian Islands before it was deactivated in 1976. The building material is concrete. This beautiful picture was contributed by Dennis Kent.

Directions: The lighthouse sits on the island of Kauai. From the north-eastern town of Kilauea, take Kilauea Road north to the lighthouse.
