History of the Diamond Head Lighthouse

The original Diamond Lighthouse was built just before the turn of the century in 1899. The lighthouse in the picture above was built 19 years later in 1918. As you can see from the picture, the lighthouse still retains its original Fresnel lens.

Directions: The lighthouse sits on the island of Oahu off the southern end of Diamond Head Road. Views are possible from Beach Road off of Diamond Head Road. Distant views are also possible from atop of the crater at Diamond Head State Monument.
