The Port Weller Outer Pier light is quite a modern looking structure to be built in 1931. The light itself looks more like something that NASA built instead of the Canadian Coast Guard. The light is the white building with the orange tower on it. This is the best shot I could get from the distance. It was taken with a 1000mm telephoto lens.
Directions: From the Town of Port Weller. Just before you reach the Wellend Canal Bridge, make a right onto Seaway Haulage Road. Follow this as far as you can go. From here, you can park your car and walk the Welland Canals Trail.
Walk the George Nicholson Memorial Trail to the end. From here, you can view the Port Weller Outer from across the canal.
Access: The lighthouse is owned by the Canadian Coast Guard. The tower and grounds are closed.
