History of the Peche Island Lighthouse

Built in 1908 on Peche Island, but by the 1980s it was about to collapse. The Coast Guard had the old tower replaced and brought the old structure to shore. It ended up on display in Marine City. It still retains its 6th order Fresnel lens although its inactive.

Directions: Heading south on State Route 29 into Marine City, make a left onto Broadway Street and follow that to Water Street. Once you make a right onto Water Street, you will see the Peche Island Lighthouse.
