Lighthouses of North Carolina
North Carolina has very deep nautical roots. Many people have heard the phrase, "The Graveyard of the Atlantic", which refers to the area just off Cape Hatteras, NC. This area houses the Diamond Shoals which have claimed many passing mariners.
In North Carolina, most of the lighthouses watch the over the Atlantic...however, there is Ocracoke, which watches over Silver Lake, and Price's Creek which marked the New Inlet.
