Cape Blanco in southern Oregon is the state's highest light. The tower is only 59 feet tall, but the cliff that the tower sits on raises the light to 245 feet above mean sea level. When the light was first originally lit in 1870, the tower had a first-order Fresnel lens. It was switched out quite a few years ago to a second-order Fresnel lens which can be spotted 22 miles out to sea thanks to the one-million-candlepower.
Directions: The lighthouse is located at the end of Cape Blanco Highway in Cape Blanco State Park. Cape Blanco State Park is located about six miles north of Port Orford.
